Attendance, expulsion and leave

출결·제적·휴학

  1. 1

    Attendance

Classes last 15 weeks. Four or more absences in a course result in an F. Be on time and attend every class.

  2. 2

    Expulsion

You can be dismissed for missing the registration deadline, not returning after a leave of absence, more than one month of unexcused absence, or enrolling at another university.

  3. 3

    Leave of absence

Students on leave must leave Korea within one month, whatever the visa says. Overstaying or working illegally leads to fines, visa cancellation and trouble re-enrolling.

Semesters and classes

학기 체계

  1. 1

    Two main semesters

Spring and Fall. Summer and winter sessions may be available for catch-up or extra credits.

  2. 2

    Your major

Your department sets the curriculum, required courses and electives. Check your major handbook and meet your academic advisor early.

  3. 3

    Online and offline

Many courses mix in-person and online formats. Both count toward attendance. Confirm the format in the LMS.

  4. 4

    Timetable and registration

Timetables are posted before each semester. Register in the official period and confirm room numbers and professor contacts.

Take note

Online lectures have a fixed access period

If you finish after the deadline you are marked absent. You can fail an online course. Missing an LMS announcement is not accepted as an excuse, so check the LMS at least once a day.

  1. 1

    Joining live classes

Live sessions link through Zoom, Teams or the LMS. Join a few minutes early with camera and microphone ready.

  2. 2

    Submitting assignments

Submit through the LMS before the deadline. Keep a screenshot or the confirmation email.

  3. 3

    Checking attendance

The system records your login time. Check your attendance status often so errors can be fixed early.

  4. 4

    Notifications

Turn on LMS email and push alerts. Professors post changes, materials and exam notices there first.

Campus rules

학교 생활 규정

  1. 1

    Your responsibilities

Attend classes, hand in work on time, respect campus rules and keep your personal information up to date with the university.

  2. 2

    In the classroom

Arrive on time, keep your phone on silent, do not talk during class, and ask before leaving for the restroom.

  3. 3

    Cheating and plagiarism

Academic dishonesty can mean a failing grade, suspension or expulsion, and it can affect your visa.

  4. 4

    Writing to professors

Use official email or LMS messages. Be polite and clear, allow time for a reply, and keep records of important exchanges.

  5. 5

    Campus conduct

Respect university property, other students and staff. Harassment or disrupting classes is taken seriously.

Take note

No smoking anywhere on campus

Smoke outside the campus before you enter. Smoking on campus leads to disciplinary action, and two violations make you ineligible for next semester's scholarship.
